CUCOS
Annual Concert

Founded in 2007, the Cambridge University Chinese Orchestra Society (CUCOS) is a well-established musical organisation based in Cambridge, with close ties to the University of Cambridge. It presents traditional and contemporary Chinese music through annual concerts, recitals and collaborative performances.

The orchestra brings together Cambridge University students and experienced musicians from the wider Cambridge community, performing with both Chinese and Western instruments. Through its regular public performances, CUCOS provides an established platform for Chinese music and cross-cultural musical exchange in Cambridge and across the UK.

Towards the Spring Light was the 2026 Annual Concert presented by the Cambridge University Chinese Orchestra Society (CUCOS), held at Downing Place United Reformed Church in Cambridge on 8 March 2026. Inspired by the themes of renewal, vitality and the arrival of spring, the concert brought together musicians performing traditional Chinese instruments for audiences in Cambridge. I participated as a guzheng performer, contributing her musicianship to the programme and presenting the distinctive sound and expressive character of Chinese instrumental music within a contemporary UK concert setting.
